VIRA PUMPS – Engineering Heritage Since 1949
VIRA PUMPS is an Indian pump and motor company based in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Established under the VIRA identity in 2006, the company carries forward a family engineering and manufacturing heritage that began in 1949.
Our parent enterprise was engaged in the manufacture and repair of induction motors for industrial and domestic applications. Over successive generations, this expertise expanded into the design and manufacture of submersible pumps and motors. Our family enterprise has more than four decades of experience in submersible pump and motor engineering, and some products manufactured by our earlier generations remain operational even after more than 30 years.
The earlier products were engineered around reliable designs, locally available materials, general-purpose machinery and established manufacturing processes. As market requirements evolved—particularly for international applications—newer products began requiring specialised materials, machinery, processes and technical workmanship.
To meet these changing requirements, we developed strategic partnerships with specialised production facilities at multiple locations. Today, VIRA pumps and motors are manufactured and assembled through these partner facilities according to our own designs, technical specifications and quality requirements.
Products can also be customised according to an importer’s required performance, materials, frequency, operating conditions and market preferences. Full-load performance testing is conducted at the respective specialised production facilities, supported by the required quality verification and export controls.

International Presence
Since 2005, VIRA products have been supplied to international markets extending from America to Australia. Our export destinations have included the United States, Chile, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Algeria, Greece, Portugal, Yemen, Qatar, Iraq, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Singapore, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia and other markets.
International marketing and exports are managed through Vasant Electro Mech India, our associated export enterprise.
